Which Texture of Hair Extensions Should I Choose?
Most of us have to style and work with our own hair to produce the result we want. The 100% human hair extensions are the same. A flat iron, waving iron, curling iron all help to produce the look you are after and whether you end up with a body wave or straight hair. Most straight hair can be scrunch-dried to produce a wave and most wavy hair will straighten and settle a bit after washing. Each package of extension hair will be a little different since it is all grown from different heads. Once you may find the hair has a little more wave than another time. The hair is gently processed to save its integrity. Again, just like it is with your own hair, using styling tools on your hair extensions will help your extensions look great and blend with your own hair naturally.

If you need an actual curl to the extension hair, (whether yours is natural or from a perm) choose the curly extension hair in the ManeMaxx® Extension Hair.

Hair Extension Products
There is a difference in the sizes of the extension hair shaft depending on the origin and processes the hair goes through. Here is a photos which magnifies our hair products next to a Chinese extension hair comparing to a caucasian natural hair strand. The Asian/Chinese extension hair is a basic extension hair you’ll find at a beauty supply store such as Sally’s. This extension hair has gone through processing and contains coatings that lend to its thickness. This may, or may not, be a huge deal for your own blending. (Most times it is not a noticeable difference and most people would never guess you are wearing hair extensions.)

The RR is the ManeMaxx® Extension Hair strand. You can see it is closer in thickness to the natural caucasian hair strand. This means the blend of the extension hair and natural hair is a bit more “natural.” It is a little more discreet and “hides” a little more. Most who wear the RR hair as opposed to the other feel the hair “becomes their own” verses an extension hair which feels thick and “rough.”

About ManeMaxx® Extension Hair
The ManeMaxx® Extension Hair has a cuticle that has been eliminated or is in the correct direction to eliminate tangling, matting, climbing of the extension hair. This is the definition of true Remi extension hair. Many suppliers might claim “Remy” hair extensions, and we, as consumers, might be easily deceived by this. If the hair tangles a ton, climbs, mattes, etc., with proper care, or is super cheap to buy, it is not remi extension hair.

The ManeMaxx® Extension Hair is extension hair that has been gently processed and left in its natural state. The extension hair is colored to match the expected color of the extension hair line. black, brunettes, reds and blondes.

Half or Full Packages of Extension Hair?  Do I Need to Add More?
You can add to your ManeMaxx® Starter Kit your choice of extension hair (sold separately). A full package contains approximately 4 ounces of extension hair and half packages approximately 2 ounces. Each package comes on a weft for neat, easy applying (each package weft width varies 70-80 inches full pack and 35-40 half pack).
(Please note this is a strand by strand hair extension application. This means you will use bundles of loose extension hairs when applying.  We include wefted hair in your kit so the extension hairs stay neat while you apply your hair extensions.  When you use the extension hair, you will clip the extension hairs from OFF of their track.)

In some cases, a full package of extension hair is enough extension hair for a full head hair extension installation. In other cases, more extension hair will be necessary for a nice, full, natural-looking result. Sometimes, a half package is enough for you, as well. For example, if you are only adding some volume to your hair and not length, you’ll find a half package just enough extensions hair to do that. Please review the list below to find out how much extension hair is best for you.

When 4 ounces of hair extensions are enough, typically one of the following apply:
► Your natural hair is long or thin
► You are looking for volume only
► You are purchasing under 16 inch hair extensions
► You are purchasing wavy or curly hair extensions
► You have an average size head and are looking to add length and some volume with hair extensions
► Your natural hair is average

When even more hair extensions should be added typically one of the following apply:
► You are looking to add length and volume
► Your natural hair is quite short
► You have a large head or a lot of hair
► Your hair is very thick or you are adding a lot of length with hair extensions
► You are purchasing straight hair 20 inches and have shorter hair, shoulder length and above, to begin with
► You want to stock up and have plenty of extension hair on hand, for 1 or more hair extension installations

✎Quality extension hair does make a difference in safe hair extension wear.
