Mixing Extension Hair Colors

Mixing extension hair colors for highlights or lowlights, thick or thin
Since most hair isn't one single solid color, you can use 2 colors of extension hair to better subtle blend to your own color or to create very dramatic highlights or lowlights.  You can blend in bold streaks of color using our colored strands or bits of an alternate color, such as an auburn blended into your brown to create a coppery sheen in your hair when the light hits it.

Find tips here for blending your extension hair colors and with your TemBond®, do you want 1 color of bonding throughout or do you need another?

Mixing 2 Or More Colors With Extension Hair

When using a weft you can cut a few strands from each color and then mix them for a subtle color mix. Or you may alternate your colors in bundles and rows for a more dramatic strand effect. When using strands you may remove the tips from 2 or more pieces at once to mix a few strands of each color for a subtle effect or alternate these complete bundles of color for a more dramatic high/lowlight effect.

From the weft:  Cut a few strands of each color, mix them into the same bundle and apply.

Using strands:  You might want to remove the tips from 2 or more pieces, mix the hairs and then separate the bundles.

From the weft:  Alternate full bundles of 1 color and then another for more defined streaks and strands.

Using strands:  Alternate complete bundles of color for a more dramatic highlight or low-light effect with your hair extensions

Mixing 2 Or More Colors, which TemBond®?

Tembond Colors

When you purchase a Starter Kit with hair from MANEMAXX™, you are sent a color of TemBond® that will match the dominent color of extension hair that you order.  For example, if you order a MANEMAXX Basic Starter Kit with a Platinum Blonde hair, we will send the Tan TemBond® with your kit.  If you order the Regal Remi kit with color #4 (which is a dark brown) and then ADD a half piece (2 ounce) of #22, then we will send the Chocolate TemBond®.  If that same #4 kit is ordered with an additional 4 ounces of #22, we will still send the Chocolate TemBond®.  If you order a Regal Remi kit #22 with a full pice of #4, we will send the Tan TemBond®.  Notice both orders are the same but the bond is matched to your first extension hair color choice.

Typically users will use the color of TemBond® which most blends and matches with the majority of extension hair being used or the predominent color at your own roots.  In other words, you may have blonde hair and add blonde extension hair, but if you have very dark roots that you let grow and inch or 2, you may want a darker bond for blending in the area where you attach the extension hair and where you are doing the bonding.

There is no additional TemBond® sent with additional hair in your Starter Kit.  If you want another color of TemBond® you must add this to your order.  You can get the discounted rate, just request this ahead of time.

To use 2 colors of bond at the same time you will want an additional heater to do this.  If you want to ever change out your bond from a heater, you can pour the TemBond® into a dixie cup for later use.  While the heater is warm, just wipe with a paper towel to clean it.
