What are ManeMaxx® do-it-yourself hair extensions?
An easy home hair extension system and safe hair extension method in a kit that you apply! ManeMaxx® hair extensions are strand-by-strand hair extensions like you can get at the salon for thousands but we use a special, non-glue and non-fusion method which makes it safe and easy for you to learn and apply your own hair extensions!
What is TemBond®? How is it not fusion or glue?
It is our own specially manufactured product and contains no glues, adhesives or fusion. The TemBond® can be worn for up to 6 months and is removed easily without chemicals of tools!
Does this hair extension system work for African American hair?
Yes. And if you can wear fusion hair extension bonds, you can wear these, too!
The system works well on every texture of hair, from very fine to very coarse. You just won’t want oils on the root area where you will apply. Later, conditioners and oils can be used on the hair but you'll want to keep the oils from the bonds throughout your wear and until you are ready to remove.
How long can I wear the hair extensions?
You can wear them until your hair grows out enough that the bonds begin to bother you or are noticeable to you. This is usually between 4 and 6 months.
How do I take the hair extensions out?
Removing the TemBond® is a snap. Simply bend the bond back and forth to break and crumble the bond. Your extension will slip away from your hair and the remaining residue will comb free.
Is the hair returnable even if I didn't open it?
We cannot accept returns on hair products which have been opened due to State health regulations. We also don't "resell" or use any product that has been handled out of our sight and because we did not see the hair not be opened, we can't accept these hair returns. If this seems harsh, we absolutely apologize! But we will help you attempt to get it right the first time!
We have all basic colors available and allow you to add your own highlights and low-lights. You would be surprised that, as long as you get your color as close as possible, a shade or two above or below, how the extension hair blends with your own hair using the strand by stand method. I've used colors I thought didn't precisely match and have been told the extensions are completely unnoticeable. One of my customers calls the hair magic. She says no matter what color you order it ends up blending!
If we do take back goods, there will be a restocking charge that is 35% of the purchase price of the goods you are mailing back. You will be responsible for all freight charges. Special Order products (including Wave and Spiral) are non-returnable. You must notify us immediately of issues in color, length or texture within four days of delivery, after which time all your goods are deemed accepted. If an order has been placed and packing has started, cancellation of your order will incur a 15% charge.
Can I color the extensions?
Yes, you can since it is human hair but getting the extensions to blend with your hair by closely color matching them first is recommended since any chemical processing to the extension hair can shorten its life and wearability.
When is my kit going to ship out?
It is approximately 7-10 business days from your order submission until you get your kit, (US) 1-2 weeks. BUSINESS DAYS exclude holidays and weekends. We do not offer expedited shipping and ask you order in plenty of time for your event or other deadline. (And give yourself plenty of time to practice, practice, practice if you are new at this!)
I have thin hair, is this a good method for me?
For sure! The bonds are super discreet and very comfortable.

Is it safe for my hair?
Yes, extremely safe. Since there are no glues or fusion, the bond needs no chemicals to remove. The TemBond® is super gentle on your hair and even a single strand can be released from a bond without breaking it.

Yes, you can! You will break off as much bond as possible, snip a fresh, flat tip with your scissors and re-dip. Any leftover bond will remelt on your extension. Easy and fun and saves money!
I just purchased my own extension hair, can I purchase the bond?
There are options to purchase a Starter Kit without hair. We don’t sell the bond apart from ordering the System Tools which has the correct warmer and instructions for using the TemBond.
Do I have to purchase a kit, can I purchase my items separately?
You must purchase a Starter Kit. We do this so we know you have all the instruction you need to use the system as well as the correct items to use the system. For example, standard wax pots DO NOT work with this product.
How long does it take to put hair extensions in?
This varies for each individual and you can expect to use many hours teaching yourself how to apply. Don’t worry, though, you’ll get faster and better as you keep installing.
Do I have to order another kit when I need more products?
Yes, all of the products are sold together. Each hair extension kit contains enough bonding material for 4-5 hair extension applications.
Can I swim or go tan in my hair extensions?
Yes, both of these are fine. (Follow care tips for wet hair when swimming.)
